another good walk

Went out yesterday and did the same beautiful walk that I found on Sunday. It goes through the woods and I don't have to hear all the road noise. Took my husband with me this time and he also loved the new trail. The weather couldn't have been better..sunny here in Minnesota. Every time that I take a long walk outside I feel stronger that I did the day before. I'm hoping that by the time I arrive at FR I will be strong enough to do the stop sign hike. The air is thinner out there due the the altitude and I have the biggest problem with my breathing when walking up hill. I'm trying to breath in through my nose and out through my mouth. It feels funny to have to continually think about the way that I'm breathing. I need to plan my meals better than I'm doing now. It's been a long day and I need to try to get at least 7 hours of sleep so I'm going to say hello to my pillow. I will taking my before pictures this week and hopefully I will be brave enough to post them. I really want to be able to see some difference after my 4 weeks at FR.

  2. I just asked my hubby if he wanted to walk with me and he said "yes". He likes to walk with me, but I feel like I'm holding him up because he can walk so much faster than I can. I will take some pictures the next time I walk and post them. So grateful that spring is in the air.

  3. Hello robbie,
Never saw your blog before , but there is si much activity on this site now. Don't worry about the altitude. I did some research on in prior ot going to the Ridge in 2008 and apparently uip to 5000 feet, there is really no affect.
Keep walking and if you can incorporate some hills.
You'll do just fine! All the best, sabine

  4. I went to a communications class at work. Well I had to go. All of the supervisors had to go. And the biggest thing I learned is NOT to say TRY. But say I WILL. Makes you more accountable. And another thing WAYFO. What does that mean. WHAT ARE YOU FOCUSED ON. Now check the conversation you are having with youself right now. Any way I will get rid of the word TRY and use I WILL. Keep walking lady. Love ya Lori

  6. Walks are good and I've found that the more I walk the easier it is. I still get out of breath when I walk up hills, but I don't stop, just keep going even if it is slower. You can do it!! Keep up the good work. This week it has been in the 70s--perfect weather--just two more weeks!!! Waiting anxiously. Love, love, love

  8. Walk on Robbie! One step at a time will get you to your goal. If your hubby isn't available, consider taking your phone. I've called friends that live far away before and we've both walked and talked as if we were really taking a walk together. Fun stuff. :) Stay strong!

  10. I know this is going to sound weird to some people but after I excerise I really feel like I have rewarded myself. I look at it as Time for me! It's a lot better than doing laundry, cleaning, everyday chores. Even if it's only for 20 minutes. Walking, riding the bike, it just starts feeling good. SOOOOOOOOOO keep it up because you are STRONG! Your are going to be amazed at just how strong YOU are!! love ya, little sis, Janet
